Textile Sculpture Installation

This sculptural installation is composed of elongated, twisting forms wrapped in various textiles and interspersed with fragments of molded materials that resemble torn or deconstructed garments or skin. The piece extends horizontally across a wall, creating an undulating visual rhythm that evokes movement, tension, and entanglement. The materials-fabric scraps, twisted fibers, and sculptural elements are interwoven in a seemingly chaotic yet deliberate configuration, suggesting both fragility and resilience.

Conceptually, the work reflects on memory, bodily presence, and the invisible threads that bind us to each other through time and experience. The wrapping and binding process alludes to mummification, healing, or preservation, while the suspended loops recall gestures of dance, touch, and flow. This visual language draws on the artist's background in tango, translating embodied movement into static form.

The sculpture functions as a kind of tactile archive, a map of interactions and histories embedded in the materials themselves. Each twist and knot becomes a point of connection-between past and present, between the personal and the collective, between movement and stillness. The use of found or repurposed textiles introduces a layer of intimacy and sustainability, honoring the stories embedded in worn fabrics and casting them in a new sculptural dialog.
